The person behind the chaos

About Me

Hey, I’m KrewShull.

An extremely confident-looking goat
Actual photo. Do not investigate further.

I’m a tech professional, as well as a gamer, streamer, tech tinkerer, and professional overthinker who likes building weird interactive systems for chat. If something can be automated, gamified, broken, fixed, and then made slightly more ridiculous, I’m probably interested.

I’ve lived all over the United States and met people from every kind of background. One thing I’ve consistently found as common ground is video games.

Comically Overconfident is where I keep my stream projects, bots, leaderboards, chat games, and experiments. A lot of what I build starts with a simple idea like “wouldn’t it be funny if chat could do this?” and then somehow turns into APIs, WebSockets, databases, lights, buttons, commands, and a lot of debugging.

The stream is built around community, chaos, games, and learning things the hard way. Sometimes we build something cool. Sometimes we summon a bug from the void. Either way, we usually learn something.

Current projects

My main project right now is a Twitch chat RPG called The Thunderdome. Viewers can smack KrewShull, earn coins, use potions, join factions, buy gear, revive each other, and compete on a live leaderboard.

I also built a conversational chatbot named NotKrewShull that you may occasionally see in chat. It also answers to “hey dummy.” NotKrewShull is powered by Ollama and runs locally on my own hardware. (not in the cloud or in a data center.)

It can respond to both Twitch chat and my voice, but it is intentionally programmed not to respond very often. If it becomes disruptive or annoying, it can always be disabled.

These projects are exactly as serious as they need to be... not very, but also somehow extremely serious.
